The approach

Why this works

Structure over motivation. Honest over hype.

Motivation is unreliable — especially in a full life. That's why I don't build your training on willpower, but on structure: a fixed moment in your week, a plan that fits your energy, and a coach who adjusts when your week changes.

Before I became a trainer, I worked in Social Work and mental healthcare — and I went through a burnout myself. I know what it looks like when work quietly takes over: the short fuse, the bad sleep, the training that's always “next week.”

I'm not the trainer who just counts your squats. I notice when your breathing is shorter this week than last — and that changes what we do that session.

Getting sustainably fit rarely happens through the body alone, or the mind alone. It happens in the interplay, and in the relationship between you and the person guiding you.

The result comes in a specific order: first your head gets quieter, then your body gets stronger. Most clients notice better sleep and more energy within the first weeks — the visible changes follow.

It's not just my experience — it's the research.

Large-scale studies, including a meta-analysis in JAMA Psychiatry covering 33 trials, show that strength training significantly reduces symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression — independent of visible physical change. The mental gains come first.

Twelve weeks of 1-on-1 coaching in a private studio in Amsterdam-West. Training, nutrition guidance and check-ins between sessions — with a programme that adapts to your week, not the other way around. After every 12-week cycle we review, measure and decide the next step together.

Your training schedule is built from scratch — but it goes further than that. We talk about what you run into in daily life. Sometimes we take five extra minutes or adjust the intensity, so everything fits exactly what you need.

You do the work. I steer.

You focus on your programme while I track your process. I support you whenever you need it, or when I see you are off track. Filling in your check-ins helps me help you even better.

Progress & new phase
